Yeah, most mainstream pornography is geared towards a (rather unimaginative, if you ask me) male audience. And then there's what most of us consider the alternative: your stereotypical "porn for women," featuring cheesy Kenny G-style sax solos and cringe-worthy face-touching. But there's a middle ground! Last month was the first annual Feminist Porn Conference, at which educators and purveyors of female-friendly porn gathered to discuss theory and production. But what constitutes feminist porn? Is it still feminist if it "degrades" the female sex partner? What if you consider yourself a feminist, but you're into that? We asked Tristan Taormino, sex educator, feminist pornographer, co-editor of The Feminist Porn Book, these and other pressing questions, plus a handy beginner's guide to get into feminist porn. Cosmo: What’s the actual definition of feminist porn? Is the definition reliant on the creators of said porn (e.g. if the creators are feminists) or, rather, the content (e.g. not demoralizing to women)? Feminist pornographers are committed to gender equality and social justice. Feminist porn is ethically produced porn, which means that performers are paid a fair wage and they are treated with care and respect; their consent, safety, and well-being are critical, and what they bring to the production is valued. Feminist porn explores ideas about desire, beauty, pleasure, and power through alternative representations, aesthetics, and filmmaking styles. Feminist porn seeks to empower the performers who make it and the people who watch it. Since the Jenna Jameson-style professional porn industry is sort of dying now that there’s free Internet porn, how do “amateur” sites like RedTube or YouPorn fit into this? Do they have their own sets of gendered problems? What most people don’t realize is that most so-called “free” porn on the internet is not really free, it’s blatant copyright infringement illegally uploaded on tube and bit torrent sites. YouPorn and RedTube are primarily in the business of making pirated content available for sharing. I don’t really consider them amateur sites because most of the content isn’t actually amateur. They are basically destroying the old economic model of the adult industry. That said, what the internet has done is leveled the playing field to some extent and made it possible for people to control the means of porn production, which is a good thing for feminists. There are a lot of small, indie porn sites run by the performers themselves like MeetTheMayhems.com and LiandraDahl.com. MakeLoveNotPorn.tv is an actual amateur filesharing site where the people who make the scenes and films can share profits with the site. If a woman likes the kind of porn that involves men dominating women, is she being anti-feminist by consuming it? I have no interest in policing or judging anyone’s desires, fantasies, and porn preferences, and I know that plenty of women have fantasies of dominance and submission. Images of dominance and submission are not anti-feminist in and of themselves, but one of the reasons feminists critique them is because consent is not always explicit and because of the repetition of men dominating women, making it the main type of power exchange we see in a lot of mainstream pornography. I think there is a stereotype that women want kinder, gentler, more romantic porn; some women do, but not all women. Feminist pornographers don’t want to do away with sexual power dynamics; many of us want to explore them in an explicitly consensual and more diverse, nuanced, non-stereotypical way. What role do you think mainstream porn plays in the sexualization of men? Pornography is often called out for the sexual objectification of women, but rarely are the same critiques made about the sexual objectification of men. In lots of mainstream porn, men are portrayed as one-dimensional sex robots; they are always dominant, assertive, and rock hard. In a lot of films, we rarely see their faces or the rest of their bodies, they are merely disembodied penises. What I’m trying to achieve in my films is a more diverse array of sexual representations and that includes more diverse images of men’s sexuality. I like to show men asking their partners for directions, men who get off on giving pleasure, submissive men, straight men who get anally penetrated, and men who aren’t afraid to challenge norms about masculinity in other ways. If I were to watch a feminist porn now, what differences/exceptional things would I notice as opposed to regular porn? There are no generalizations I can make about all feminist porn, but there are certain elements that many feminist porn films have in common. Feminist porn is sex-positive, depicts sexual consent and agency, and prioritizes female pleasure. So, you’re likely to see real female orgasms. Feminist porn features minorities underrepresented in mainstream porn, so you may see people of different gender identities and expressions, races, body types, or abilities. Those differences will not be fetishized or stereotyped, as some mainstream porn does (with race, for example). Do you think women in the professional porn industry have agency or are they being exploited? That’s an extremely broad question that tough to answer briefly; people have written dissertations about this topic. As with any other industry, women have choices, control, and agency in their work, and some have more and others have less, depending on lots of different factors. The notion that all women who work in porn are exploited and degraded is a stereotype, one that is often propagated by people who refuse to listen to sex workers talk about their own experiences and instead make assumptions about them. Do you consider women like Sasha Grey or Stoya feminist porn actresses? I don’t feel comfortable speaking for Sasha Grey (who is now retired from performing) or Stoya about their politics or the way they identify. I will say that Sasha and Stoya represent a new generation of female porn performers who are bright, articulate, thoughtful, powerful women who have a lot to say about the work they do; they contradict the stereotype of the dumb, drugged-out young woman who’s clueless and exploited by the industry. There are a growing number of feminist-identified performers in porn, and many of them have pieces in The Feminist Porn Book. Some of the most visible and vocal include Dylan Ryan, Jiz Lee, April Flores, Lorelei Lee, Sinnamon Love and performer/directors Nina Hartley, Madison Young, Courtney Trouble, and Bobbi Starr. How can we be responsible porn consumers? I call feminist porn “organic, fair trade porn” and liken it to the organic and fair trade movement in the United States. People are also willing to put their money where their politics are to support local, artisanal, and independent small businesses. If they care where their coffee came from, how it was made, and how it got to the marketplace, they buy local, organic, and fair trade. Well, the same thing needs to happen for porn buyers. Consumers who want to support feminist porn should look for filmmakers who identify their work as feminist and support it by buying their films. The biggest thing you can do is research the directors and companies who create porn and to buy—not illegally download—it. Where should women interested in feminist porn start? Name a few beginner titles you might suggest to them. If you like scripted features that emphasize solid production values, look for movies directed by Erika Lust, Petra Joy, Anna Span, and Candida Royalle. Shine Louise Houston, Courtney Trouble, and Madison Young make movies by and for lesbians, queer and trans people. Da müssen schon ganz andere Methoden her. Der gewiefte Pick-up Artist von heute kommt direkt zur Sache und demonstriert seine Fertigkeiten am lebenden Objekt in freier Wildbahn. Der sogenannte Pick-up Artist, der im Flirt-Auftrag unterwegs ist, überschreitet nicht nur öfter die Grenze des guten Geschmacks, sondern auch die zur sexuellen Belästigung. Das schreiben nicht nur feministische Blogger. Auch große amerikanische Online-Seiten wie Slate oder The Daily Dot schließen sich dieser Meinung an. Es geht um Männer, die halb oder komplett nackt Frauen anmachen und ihnen gerne auch mal näher kommen. Und das ganze filmen. Motorboaten für 20 Dollar Viel diskutiert ist derzeit ein Clip, den die drei Aufreißer Jesse, Kong und Jasen auf ihrem Kanal "Simple Pick Up" bei Youtube eingestellt haben. Sie nutzten den Breast Cancer Awareness Day um ihn um eine umstrittene Aktion zu bereichern: In ihrem Video bieten sie jeder Frau 20 Dollar, die sich von ihnen motorboaten lässt. Wer bei dem Begriff Fragezeichen auf der Stirn hat, dem hilft das Urban Dicitionary: "The act of pushing one's face in between two ample breasts, and rocking one's head side to side very rapidly while making a vigorous, lip-vibrating "brrr" sound." 6000 Dollar sammelten die drei Aufreißer mit ihrer Aktion. Das Video ist allerdings inzwischen gesperrt, wahrscheinlich aufgrund der Vielzahl an Beschwerden. Die Wohltätigkeitsorganisation, für die die Spende gedacht war, lehnte das Geld ab. Mutmacher für schüchtern Männer Viele dieser Videos werden in den Youtube-Kommentare, bei Reddit und in den Blogs kontrovers diskutiert. Die amerikanische Huffington Post etwa schreibt über das Motorboating-Video: Das Video wäre unangenehm anzusehen und kommentiert es mit "borderline sexually harassing strangers". Zustimmende Posts sehen Kong, Jesse und Jason hingegen als Helden. Of zu lesen sind Kommentare von Männern, denen dies Art des Umgangs mit Frauen Mut macht, weil sie sich bislang nicht getraut hätten, Frauen überhaupt nur anzusehen. Viele Männer sehen die drei als Vorbilder, die ihnen mit ihren Lehrvideos die Angst vor der peinlichen Frauen-Ansprecherei und möglichen Abfuhren nehmen. Demütigend und erniedrigend Ein anderes Video, das sehr kontrovers diskutiert wurde und inzwischen ebenfalls gesperrt ist, zeigt wie die drei Frauen in einem Park eine nicht ganz freiwillige Rückenmassage zukommen lassen. Die Frauen versuchen sich zu wehren und müssen zum Teil sogar Hilfe holen, um die drei Pick-Up Artists loszuwerden. Die feministische Bloggerin Kay Matty schreibt: "Sie belästigen zahlreiche Frauen in ihren Videos und ermutigen ihre männlichen Zuschauer, dasselbe zu machen. Sie demütigen Frauen sexuell, indem sie sie hinterhältig auf der Straße ansprechen und widerliche und unangebrachte Dinge sagen, wie: 'rasierst du deine Vagina'?" Immer krassere Videos Das Blog Daily Dot schreibt, dass die Pick-Up Videos auf Youtube immer häufiger die Grenze zur sexuellen Belästigung überschreiten. Ganz oben im Ranking der Pick-Up Absurditäten steht ein blonder, langhaariger Norweger namens Fred Fairhair. Er nähert sich Frauen im Park, zieht sich vor ihnen die Hose aus und versucht, sie zu umarmen. Er kommentiert das unter anderem mit: "Ich hab nen Steifen". Dabei wird er die ganze Zeit von einem Kumpel gefilmt, der die Videos dann ins Netz stellt. Der Film wurde bei Youtube inzwischen zwei Millionen mal gesehen, 7000 Mal wurde er geliked, 600 Mal ging der Daumen runter. Demonstration von Männlichkeit? Das Blog Daily Dot schreibt dazu: "Fairhair zeigt damit Selbstvertrauen. Nicht in das, was er sagt, nicht in seine Persönlichkeit, aber in seinen Schwanz." Viele der Frauen, denen er sich genähert hat, lachten zwar über seine Aktion, aber das macht sein Eindringen in den Persönlichkeitsraum der Frauen nicht weniger problematisch. Am Ende des Clips werden sogar zwei (männliche) Polizisten gezeigt, die lachen und Fairhair die Hand schütteln. Vielel Kommentare applaudieren ihm für seinen Mut, nennen ihn "awesome" und erklären, sie hätten "Respekt" für seine Taktik. Im Blog Worthwhile schreibt ein männlicher Blogger, das Video "reflektiere eine ernst gemeinte Sehnsucht, eine neue Männlichkeit zu formen, die sich nicht über Jobs oder Geld definiert. Es geht um Männer, die es sich selbst erlauben, deutlich zu sein. Dafür habe ich Verständnis. Aber beinhaltet Männlichkeit auch, sich wie ein Trottel zu benehmen?"

Hallo Astra, Ich habe vor Jahren in meinem Freundeskreis eine sehr ähnliche Geschichte miterlebt. Es ist extrem schwer solchen Personen zu helfen, da sie in ihren Verfolgungsphantasien jede Einflussnahme von aussen schnell als Angriff und die entsprechende Person als "einen von den Bösen", und damit nicht mehr vertrauenswürdig, wahrnehmen. Ich kann dir aber nur raten, euch so schnell wie möglich Hilfe zu holen und ich würde dir trotzdem raten eventuell mit dem Psychologen darüber zu sprechen, dass dein Vater seine Medikamente nicht einnimmt. Immer wieder wahr... http://postmasculine.com/shit-test-paranoia Shit Test Paranoia On April 6, 2011By Mark Manson I’ve been meaning to address this for a while now, the obsession and paranoia some guys have about shit tests. For those who are uninitiated, a shit test is an old PUA term to describe a woman who says something derogatory to you to see how you react. The theory is that she is testing your dominance, your will, your frame, your confidence, etc. in order to judge how attractive you really are. Typically it comes in the form of snooty comments such as, “Are you gay?” or “Don’t you have any other friends?” or making fun of your shirt or whatever. Woman test you when she’s attracted to you but she wants to make sure you’re for real. The idea is that she challenges you in some way, and you have to prove to her that you’re unaffected by her interjections. In the past, I went into depth on how to handle shit tests here. If you’re unfamiliar with the concept, you probably want to take a moment and review that post. Here I want to address shit test paranoia. Over the years, guys commonly come to me with all of these shit tests that women throw at them asking me how they should deal with them. I usually point them to the above post or just repeat what’s said there. But here’s the interesting part: I’d say 80% of the time, what the guys perceive as shit tests aren’t actually shit tests at all. In fact, I’m not a huge fan of the shit test label in general. I think it’s another PUA concept that ends up hurting more than it helps. But first, I’ll explain the two most common ways guys misinterpret women’s actions as shit tests when they’re really not. The first is teasing. I’d say a solid 50% of the questions I get concerning women testing a guy are no more than a girl teasing and flirting with the guy in question. I always have to reassure these guys that this is indeed a good thing. Women only tease guys they’re flirting with and they only flirt with men that they’re attracted to. How some good-natured ribbing qualifies as a shit test in the minds of these guys is beyond me. Or actually, scratch that, they interpret them as shit tests because they’re overly-sensitive and taught by books they’ve read that they must be prepared to overcome any adversity a woman throws at them. This is a bunch of BS. Your guy friends tease you. Your family teases you. Are they shit testing you? Are their teases something that must be deflected or conquered? No, it’s merely a sign of playful affection, so treat it that way. As with most PUA concepts, the idea of the shit test creates a defensive mindset in the guy, the idea that this is some obstacle that must be overcome and defeated rather than accepted and connected with. The other common situation which men erroneously perceive to be “shit tests” is when a woman is a plain rejection. The most popular example is the so-called “I have a boyfriend” shit test. This isn’t a shit test. This is her saying she’s not interested in you. Even if she’s lying and is single, she’s turned off, not receptive and is probably not worth the effort. Other common rejections that are misinterpreted as shit tests: “I have to go,” “Here, talk to my friend,” “We’re lesbians,” or of course, the obvious “Sorry, I’m not interested.” Shit tests are actually quite rare. And believe it or not, they become more common the closer and more intimate you are with a woman. Anyone who’s been married or lived with a girlfriend can tell you that you get tested on a daily basis. Girls I meet in bars almost never shit test me. My ex-girlfriend of two years barraged me constantly with them. Shit tests only happen when a woman is already very attracted to you to the point that it makes her uncomfortable. She eases this comfort by testing you. It’s her sub-conscious saying, “I’m so into this guy that it’s scary. I don’t know how trustworthy he is. Here, I’ll say something obnoxious to see if he’s for real or not.” It’s a screening strategy for women, since they have so much more to gain/lose by emotionally invested themselves in a guy. This is also why the rate of shit tests increase proportionally to the level of intimacy you share. This is also why one of the most common shit tests on the planet is some permutation of “You must be gay.” Sure, sometimes this can be used as a tease or rejection, but women you just meet out at a bar or club will pull this one out when they become extremely attracted to you quickly. Think about it for a second, what do all women say about gay guys? That they’re hot. They’re emotionally expressive, dress well, make her laugh and are physical with her without inhibitions. All things that we teach you to do in the dating advice industry. She’s turned on, she doesn’t really know what to do with the situation. She really likes you but just met you and doesn’t know you. She feels a little nervous and doesn’t completely trust you. And so she blurts out, “You have to be gay, right?” It has nothing to do with you. It has everything to do with her. If you react negatively, or show any irritation (remember: the quickest turn off for a woman is a man who is intimidated by her), then she’ll lose attraction for you. Her sub-conscious will be eased because you’ll just be another douchebag trying to get into her pants. But if you’re unaffected, and if you come back at her with even more playfulness and ease, if you accept her insecurity and rest with it, bringing her up to your level with confidence and care, then you’re reaffirming to her that, in fact, you are a ridiculously hot guy she just met. It’s a win/win situation for her. If you fail, you expose yourself as a fraud and she can rest easy. If you pass with flying colors, then she knows she really has a catch. It’s win/win for her. That’s why she does it. So, how to tell the difference between teases/shit-tests/rejections? Keep this in mind: - If she makes a derogatory comment with playful and fun intentions and she likes you, then she is teasing you and flirting. This is GOOD. It means she likes you. - If she makes a derogatory comment with serious intentions and she likes you, then she is testing you. This is GOOD. Und dann reicht es aus, sich zu überlegen, wie man die letzten Frauen kennengelernt hat, um zu wissen, dass deine "These" Bullshit ist und es genügen kann "Hallo" zu sagen. Nur weil das bei dir nicht klappt, heißt das nicht, dass das an den Frauen oder der heutigen Zeit liegt. Mal drüber nachgedacht?
